Edinborough Park Edina: Hidden Indoor Oasis for Kids, Fitness & Family Fun

Posted on July 27, 2025August 9, 2025 By Warren Driscoll No Comments on Edinborough Park Edina: Hidden Indoor Oasis for Kids, Fitness & Family Fun

Hi! I’m Warren Driscoll. I write about fun places to visit. I’ve traveled to fancy spots for seven years. Places like villas in Ibiza and chalets in the Alps. I love sharing tips to help families have great trips. Edinborough Park Edina is a special indoor park. It’s fun for kids and grown-ups. It has slides, a pool, and green plants. This guide tells you everything about it. Let’s explore this hidden oasis!

Why Go to Edinborough Park?

Edinborough Park is in Edina, Minnesota. It’s a big indoor park. It’s warm all year, even in snowy winters. Kids can play and climb. Grown-ups can exercise or relax. The park has lots of green plants. It feels like a jungle inside. Families love it for fun days out. It’s near shops and food, too.

Adventure Peak: Big Play Area for Kids

What Is Adventure Peak?

Adventure Peak is a huge playground. It’s one of the biggest indoor ones around. Kids climb a tall structure. It’s 40 feet high! They slide down long tubes. They crawl through tunnels. There’s a climbing wall, too. Everything is safe with nets and soft padding. I saw kids laugh as they zoomed down slides. It’s so much fun.

Who Can Play There?

Kids over four can play alone. Younger kids need a grown-up. The steps are big, so little kids might need help. Parents can climb, too. I climbed with my kids in a park like this in Spain. We had a blast. Brave kids love the high slides. Shy kids can play lower down. It’s safe for everyone.

Little Peak: Fun for Tiny Kids

Little Peak is for kids under four. It’s right by Adventure Peak. It’s small and soft. There are over 45 fun things to do. Toddlers climb soft steps. They play with soft toys. Everything is closed in, so it’s safe. Parents stay close to watch. I saw a toddler giggle in a tunnel. It’s great for little kids.

The Great Hall: Run and Play

The Great Hall is a big open space. Kids run and play games. The park gives out scooters and basketballs. There’s a bouncy house, too. Families can jump and race. It’s good for using up energy. I saw kids ride scooters while parents clapped. The Great Hall has free events, too. Look at the Edina Parks website for times.

Swimming and Fitness: Fun for Grown-Ups

Junior Olympic Pool

The park has a big pool. It’s called a junior Olympic pool. The water is warm at 82 degrees. Kids and grown-ups love swimming here. Kids under 14 need a grown-up. The pool costs $8 to use. This includes the track, too. I swam in a warm pool like this in France. It feels nice on cold days.

Running Track and Gym

A track goes around the pool. Grown-ups can walk or jog. There’s a gym area with machines. You can exercise while kids play. The track and gym are part of the $8 fee. I walked a track like this in the Alps. It’s a fun way to stay fit.

Fun Events for Families

Free Shows and Movies

Edinborough Park has free events. There’s an amphitheater for concerts. Kids’ shows happen on Thursdays at noon. Free movies play on Fridays in the school year. Check the park calendar for details. In summer, events move to Centennial Lakes Park. I went to a kids’ concert in a villa once. Everyone smiled.

Birthday Parties

The park has birthday party rooms. Parties start at $100. You can bring 10 to 60 people. Kids play while parents rest. I saw happy kids at a party in a park like this. Book early because rooms go fast.

How to Plan Your Visit

Hours and Costs

The playpark is open Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sundays, it’s 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pool and track have different hours. Check the park’s website. Playpark costs $7 per kid, plus tax. Grown-ups get in free with kids. Pool and track are $8 per person. A 10-visit pass is $60 plus tax. Yearly passes are good for frequent trips.

What to Bring

Wear socks in the playpark. Everyone needs them. Bring quarters for lockers. They cost 50 cents. You get a wristband to play, but staff don’t always check. I forgot socks at a park once. It was annoying. Bring snacks and water. There’s a café upstairs with food and drinks.

Getting There

The park is at 7700 York Avenue South, Edina, MN 55435. Free parking is on the top level of the ramp. It’s by the front doors. The park is near Southdale Center. It’s easy to find from the Twin Cities. Buses stop close by, too.

Safety and Easy Access

Is It Safe?

The park is very safe. Adventure Peak and Little Peak have nets all around. Soft padding is everywhere. Staff clean the equipment. Lifeguards watch the pool. I felt safe letting my kids play in a park like this. Parents must watch young kids, especially in Adventure Peak. Mornings are less crowded.

Can Everyone Use It?

The park is easy to use for everyone. Wheelchairs can get to most places. Ramps lead to main areas. The Great Hall is flat. Little Peak is good for kids who move differently. Strollers fit in most spots. The pool has steps, so ask staff for help. I’ve seen parks like this in Europe. Edinborough is great for all families.

The Park’s Cool Story

Edinborough Park opened in 1988. It’s part of a big building with offices and homes. It was made for Minnesota’s cold winters. The park has over 6,000 plants. A small stream runs through it. It feels like a forest inside. I stayed in a villa with an indoor garden once. It was so peaceful. The park stays at 70 degrees. It’s cozy all year.

Fun Places Nearby

Edinborough Park is close to Southdale Center. This mall has shops and places to eat. Pinstripes is a fun restaurant nearby. It’s great for families. Centennial Lakes Park is close, too. It has trails and a farmers’ market. I visited a market like this in France. It’s fun for kids. The Galleria, a fancy mall, is nearby, too. These places make Edinborough a great spot for a day trip.

Tips for a Fun Day

  • Go in the morning. It’s less busy.
  • Check the event calendar for free shows.
  • Bring socks for everyone.
  • Visit Southdale Center after for food or shopping.
  • Pack snacks to save money.
  • Watch young kids closely in Adventure Peak.

Why Edinborough Park Is Awesome

Edinborough Park is more than a playground. It’s a warm, green oasis. Kids love the big slides and play areas. Grown-ups enjoy the pool and track. Free events make it special. The plants make it feel alive. I’ve visited many family places in seven years. This park is one of a kind. Plan a trip to Edinborough Park Edina today. Your family will love it.
